Adopting an Animal from FOLAS
This adorable guy is one of our favorites at the shelter. Always on the move, he can never get enough playtime. He loves anything involving lights, feathers, balls, or strings. Once he knows you're there to play, he'll be all over you until you tire him out. We've equipped him with a collar - complete with bell - just so that we can keep track of him while he runs laps around the trailer. While he doesn't always get along with his neighbors, anybody that loves to play would be a great friend to Dexter. All he wants from his forever home is someone he can play with and that will sit with him when he's tired If you are interested in adopting him, please complete our online application at http://folas.org/cat-adoption-form/ and a volunteer will contact you shortly.
Lacey is a simple cat looking for her forever home. Easily distinguished by the black spot on her nose, she loves to just hang around in her cage or roam the shelter, looking for the perfect perch. If you are interested in adopting her, please complete our online application at http://folas.org/cat-adoption-form/ and a volunteer will contact you shortly.

Calypso is a beautiful tortie girl with lots of cattitude. She is lovable and totally enjoys being petted but does not like to be held or handled for long periods of time. Calypso prefers to do things her way and on her terms (a typical tortie trait). For this reason she would not be a good choice for a family with small children. She likes to play and enjoys napping in her hammock afterwards. Calypso can be seen at the shelter during daily adoption hours. If you are interested in adopting her, please fill out our online application and a volunteer will contact you shortly.
Sugar is in URGENT need of placement in a permanent or foster home! Her foster mom is moving in with a sick family member and can no longer foster her - so please consider adopting or fostering her if your circumstances allow!! Sugar is a beautiful, beautiful blue nose bully girl! We believe her to be a bull dog/staffy mix of about 60 lbs and 2-3 years old. She is a short legged girl with a stocky body and her fur is thick and plush. She has an understated brindle look to her tan coat featuring hints of brown, carmel and gold. Sugar is gorgeous with her dreamy, hazel green eyes that don't really show well in her pictures, but trust us-they are melt-worthy! Sugar likes other well-behaved/adjusted dogs and people (but likes cats a little too much). She can be dog selective and does not like bossy or confrontational dogs. She is a fun-loving girl who has a zest for life and who enjoys a good game of rough-housing, fetch or keep away. Sugar can be a bit possessive with certain prized possessions but we are working on this and she making good progress, now even enjoying a great game of tug with foster mom or sharing toys with her foster sister and brother. Its also pretty easy to rein her in when she starts to get too overly excited, which is a good thing! Sugar likes going for walks and investigating new things. She is a also a good watch dog and let's foster mom know when anyone is around. She can also be very protective of her human(s). She is learning basic commands and is eager to please. She knows "sit", "high 5", "down", and "come". We are also working on "look" and "leave it". She is potty trained. She is spayed, micro chipped and up to date with her shots. She is a great partner for playing Frisbee, and snuggling! We think she would do well in a structured home environment with not too much chaos, and not a lot of people coming and going continuously. We are looking for either a single person, a couple or a family with older children who are committed to working with her training going forward. You won't find a sweeter and happier girl than this one. Simple things seem to please Sugar so. (And almost anything can be a toy to have fun with, including empty laundry detergent bottles!) Sugar is in foster in the Rahway/Clark/Linden area and is available to be seen by appointment. If you think you would be interested in meeting her or if you have any questions, please feel free to email Ilsa Singer of Crossed Paws Rescue at email@example.com. She will respond to your inquiry ASAP. Or you can contact his temporary foster mom at firstname.lastname@example.org. If you are interested in adopting her please complete our online application and a volunteer will contact you shortly.dog application can be found at folas.org/our dogs/dog adoption application

Slippers is a rescue from multi-cat house whose owner was overwhelmed. He was very shy and could use a little TLC from a loving and patient person. Lately he rubs against your legs begging for pets and scratches. If you would like to adopt Slippers, please fill out our online application at www.folas.org and a volunteer will contact you shortly.
Nellie can be very sweet but temperamental at times, most likely because sheâs not happy at the prospect of spending lots of time with other cats in the shelter. Sheâd be better off as an only pet in a forever home with no children. She is fairly fond of adults, though, and will headbutt you if you come into her space as an attempt to get you to pet her. You can meet Nellie at our shelter during adoption hours. If you are interested in adopting her, please complete our online application at http://folas.org/cat-adoption-form and a volunteer will contact you shortly.
Sahara is a gorgeous girl who loves to snooze in her hammock. She has been with us for a very long time, so could use a bit of socialization from an experienced cat owner. Once she warms up to you, she is very sweet and enjoys head and neck rubs. If you are interested in adopting Sahara, please complete our online application at http://folas.org/cat-adoption-form/ and a volunteer will contact you shortly.
